Truffle Trees are used widely to cultivate this sought after delicacy which is a type of fungi which grow in symbiosis close to the roots of hazel and oak trees. They are the most expensive fungus you can buy, highly valued chefs and connoisseurs for their superb flavour. Summer Truffles (Tuber aestivum var. uncinatum) are a native UK species and ideal for growing in the British climate. This young hazel sapling has been pre-inoculated with the Summer Truffle and could be producing valuable truffles within five years. 

Hazel grow quicker than Oak and make a small tree suitable for smaller gardens. The Oak will grow slower than Hazel, especially when young, but makes a large tree which needs a good sized space. If you are willing to wait you should get more truffles from a large Oak tree than a small Hazel tree

These saplings are dispatched direct to you by the grower so please allow 5 to 7 days for delivery. If you need to keep them for a short time before planting in their permanent position take the packaging off and cover the roots damp soil, either in the ground or use a large pot, in a sheltered position outdoors. Keep the soil moist but never let it become waterlogged
