To work out how much pond liner you will need to construct a pond add twice the depth to the length, and twice the depth to the width.  For example for a pond 1.5m long x 1m wide and 0.5m deep will need a piece of pond liner which is 2.5m x 2m (1.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 x 1.0 + 0.5 + 0.5)
